Studies have shown that family members, choirs and people playing trust games will sync their heart beats. But how easy is it for two strangers to sync their heart beats together?

‘Hearts Acquiesce’ uses pulse sensors and projected animations to allow two users to experience their heart beats in real time. Two beats out of time will always appear to sync together for a few moments. Taking advantage of this phenomenon this installation provides a momentary sense of connection. When both heart beats sync, the animation changes to red, enticing the users to experiment together to try and sync their hearts again.

Built with Processing and Arduino.
